National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that his meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno discussed how to re-strengthen five super priority destinations in Indonesia after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently there are 34 million people who depend on the tourism sector. “Earlier we discussed to synergize programs that we can do to accelerate and strengthen the five super priority destinations,” said the Chief of Police at Rupatama Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (24/2), this afternoon.

Not only five priority destinations, continued the Chief of Police, he also asked the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno to also pay attention to the destinations that have been the backbone, namely Bali and other tourism places. “Of course, in line with the 5 priority destinations,” said the Chief of Police.

Listyo Sigit said that his staff had checked all tourist attractions in the implementation of the micro PPKM. According to Listyo, to convince foreign and local tourists that Indonesia’s tourist areas are safe, namely by ensuring enforcement of health protocols has been implemented.

The implementation of 3T and 3M at each entrance and hotel also has a significant impact on the confidence of tourists to travel to Indonesia. “We see quite positive developments in several areas we visited, such as Jogja Bali and several teams visiting other places,” he said

Meanwhile, Sandiaga Uno expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Police and staff who have collaborated well with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to jointly revive and restore the tourism sector which has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy are very grateful to the Chief of Police and his staff who have been running in good collaboration, sir,” said Sandi. (Ade Gunawan / pn)
