Authorities in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India closed the Taj Mahal on Thursday, March 4, 2021. The local government decided to close the iconic India tour after receiving a bomb threat.
Not long ago there was a phone call that came to the Taj Mahal and said there were bombs stored in this historic tourist destination. The threatener said the bomb exploded immediately.
“Someone called claiming to be Loha Mandir. He said there was a bomb in the Taj Mahal and it was going to explode soon. We are notifying the CISF and a search operation was launched under the leadership of Circle Officer (Sadar), ”said SP (Protocol) Shiv Ram Yada as reported by the Indian Times, Sunday, March 7, 2021. The telephone threat panicked among visitors to Agra at the time.
To take quick steps and avoid unwanted events, the Agra Police and CISF immediately evacuated 1,000 tourists.
Security guards immediately combed the monument area. However, after a 30-minute investigation, the police did not find any bombs or suspicious objects in the monument.
According to the PTI news agency, the bomb threat at the Taj Mahal was declared a hoax or fake news. Not long after, the police immediately arrested the suspect who made the bomb threat call.
The suspect is a resident of Firozabad named Vimal Kumar Sigh (30). He was also reported to be mentally unstable. Vimal has now been arrested in connection with the suspect who spread the bomb threat. (henri/deni/pn/jpnn)
