Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters Inspector General Prabowo Argo Yuwono suspected that the suicide bomber in front of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church or Makassar Cathedral on Sunday (28/3) morning was about to target congregations who had just finished worshiping.
Two perpetrators attempted to enter the Makassar Cathedral when the congregation began to leave after attending the Palm Sunday mass. According to Argo, there were two people suspected of being the perpetrators of the bombing who wanted to enter the church.
“Two people (perpetrators) who wanted to enter the church were prevented by security and then an explosion occurred,” said Argo.
The 1991 alumnus of the Police Academy (Akpol) said the officers immediately secured the location. Next, the police organized a crime scene (TKP).
Argo said The perpetrator came to the Makassar Cathedral on a motorcycle. Now the two-wheeled vehicle has become rubble.
