JOINED SAR TEAM DOES SEARCH FOR VICTIMS FRIDGED IN PALABUHAN RATU
Three children were swept away by the waves on the south coast on Sunday (7/3) this morning at around 06.30 WIB at Karang Sari Regional Pier, Palabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java . The three victims were residents of Palabuhan Ratu who were swimming in the area until finally they were dragged by the waves in the area.
One victim was rescued by local residents on behalf of Dimas (9) while the two victims on behalf of Pahir (13) and Iki (9) are still being searched by the joint SAR team.
“This afternoon we will conduct a search for the two victims who are still missing by optimizing all elements of the combined SAR and equipment in the field.” Tegas Hendra Sudirman, SE, M.Sc., Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC).
He also revealed that this afternoon the combined SAR elements would conduct a search by dividing the area into 2 (two) where the first SRU would search by sweeping the waters using a jukung 01 boat with an area of approximately 1 NM2 from the location of the incident then the second SRU would carry out sweeping.
